Jean Spencer of the Governor's Staff.
We have invited and we continue to extend an
invitation to the members of the Legislature who are also
delegates to the Constitutional Convention to appear
before our committee tomorrow morning. Tentatively, we
may also have tomorrow morning, the former administrative
assistant to the Speaker of the California General
Assembly, Senator Margolis, in which event we will move
the witnesses around a little bit in the morning.
One suggestion was made by the committee today,
Mr. President, and I pass it along. It simply is this:
That availability of the house chamber be considered for
hearings in the event it can be done without interfering
with the normal processes.
THE PRESIDENT: May I inquire of Delegate Gallagher
whether the request for the house chamber is because of
the size or because of the unavailability of the other
large hearing room?
DELEGATE GALLAGHER: No, it is not a question
of unavailability but it was thought that perhaps the
house chamber would lend itself to some of the larger
