Next week we are going to devote the hearings

to general discussions of state, municipal, county

relationships.

Our obvious problem in the field of local

5

government, I think, is that we are unable to segment

6

out particular aspects of this general subject that I

7

just mentioned and have specific hearings at this time

8

on these aspects, and I want to make every delegate

9

well aware that when a county commissioner or

10

representative comes in, he will be talking about every-

11

thing from state government to regional government

12

to county government to his relationships with his

13

municipalities, with municipalities in his area.

14

Continuing through that week, and I hope

15

to provide a detailed schedule, we will hear from

16

virtually all, representatives of virtually all of the

17

county government. Commencing on Friday, the 22nd, we

18

hope to have with us representative mayors. We have

19

sent communications to every county government and to

20

every mayor saying that we are willing to hear from

21

them, but we are also contacting specific mayors to
