enough to put them in, for want of a medical word, an
2
institution, but these are being cared for by a fulltime
3
teacher. We also have the so-called average children,
4
above average and below average in our other classrooms.
5
For all of these children we have the help of a nurse,
6
something that was not heard of a few years ago, under
7
this same status quo.
8
Another of the advancements that we have made
9
is in the field of physical education. We know that our
10
children develop, need to be developed totally. They need
11
to be developed physically, socially, as well as mentally,
12
and our status quo is taking care of this.

May I digress for a minute and say to the young
14
man, Delegate Lord, who if he be a product of our Maryland
15
system, you have been learned real good, young man, and I
16
think this speaks very well for our education, even though
17
it doesn't speak well for my grammar. That is something
18
that I have adopted from some of my students.
19
Now, let me be serious again for a moment.

Delegate Blair referred to the three R's. It is true --

I am sorry, that is the teacher instinct, Mr. Chairman.
