doubt but that the facts therein set forth are true, under this impression
your committee are of
opinion that sufficient reasons exist for the interference of the legislature
in behalf of the petitioner,
and leave ought to be given by the house to bring in a bill annulling the
marriage of
the said Anne Gross and Simon her husband.

Which was read.
RESOLVED, That George Twilly, senior, of Somerset county,
be and he is hereby released
and discharged from the payment of seventeen pounds six shillings and nine-pence,
being the
valuation money of certain improvements by him made on a parcel of vacant
land in the county
aforesaid, and for which the said George Twilly obtained a warrant of resurvey
from the land-office
on the eastern shore.
A memorial from Solomon Frazier, of Dorchester county,
stating, that he was appointed commander
of one of the barges during the late war, and praying to be reimbursed
for monies expended
during the sitting out of the said barges, was preferred, read, and
referred to Mr. Keene,
Mr. Hyland and Mr. Tilghman, to consider and report thereon.
Mr. J. Buchanan, from the committee, delivers to the
speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the
benefit of John Shewman, of Washington county; which was read the first
and second time by
especial order, and passed.
