a public road in the upper part of Queen-Anne's county, and the resolution respecting William
Kilty, were sent tot he senate by the clerk.
    The bill to authorise certain commissioners to lay off a town in Prince-George's county, by
the name of Van-Ville, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The bill to authorise and empower the justices of the levy court of Prince-George's county to
pull down the repository of the records of the register of wills in said county, was read the second
time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The bill for the punishment of horse stealers and other offenders, was read the second time,
passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    On motion, the question was put, That the bill to open a road from Patowmack river, opposite
to the furnace in Virginia belonging to Thomas Johnson and company, to the widow Kemp's mill,
in Frederick county, be referred to the next session of assembly?  The yeas and nays being required,
appeared as follow:

So it was resolved in the affirmative.
    Mr. Bond, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Joseph Wheeler, executor, and Henrietta
Wheeler, executrix, of Ignatius Wheeler, deceased, in behalf of the representatives of
the said Ignatius Wheeler, and James McGaugh in his own right, stating, that they are very
much injured by a road now laid off leading from Pine ford to Patrick Smith's lane, in Harford
county, report, that they have taken the same into consideration, and are of opinion that the
prayer of the petitioners ought to be granted, and that leave be given to bring in a bill to carry
the same into effect.
                                                    By order,                                    L.  GASSAWAY, clk.
    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill
pursuant thereto.  ORDERED, That the committee appointed on the said petition prepare and
bring in the same.
    A memorial from the vestry of Saint-John's parish, in Prince-George's and Charles counties,
praying they may be authorised to raise by lottery a sum of money for the purpose of repairing
the churches in the said parish, was preferred and read.
    The bill for annulling the marriage of John Crist, of Frederick county, and Susanna his wife,
was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The order of the day, respecting the bill for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, is postponed.
    The report of the committee appointed to inquire whether any and what alterations are necessary
in superintending the revenue of the state, and whether in their opinion it is necessary to
appoint an agent for the year one thousand eight hundred, was read the second time, and the
question put, That the house concur therewith?  The yeas and nays being required, appeared as
follow:

    The bill relating to public roads in Queen-Anne's county, was read the second time, and passed.
    The clerk of the senate delivers the resolution in favour of Gabriel Duvall, and others, endorsed;

" By the senate, December 28, 1799:  Read the second time by especial order and assented to.
                                                    " By order,                            A.  VAN-HORN, clk."
The resolution in favour of the adjutant-general, endorsed; " By the senate, December 26,
" 1799:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

" By the senate, December 28, 1799:  Read the second time and assented to.

The bill to make permanent and to continue the acts of assembly therein mentioned, endorsed;
