WHEREAS, It has become desirable to issue new bonds to
take the place of such of the present bonds as may be outstand-
ing at the time of their maturity as aforesaid; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the president and directors or managers of the
Liberty and Pipe Creek Turnpike Road Company, or a
majority of them, be and they are hereby authorized and
empowered to issue the bonds of said company to an amount
not to exceed the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars,
fgr the purpose of taking up and paying off such of the bonds
of said company as are now outstanding, or may be outstand-
ing on the 30th day of June in the year 1900; and the said
bonds shall be issued in sums of not less than one hundred
dollars each, payable ten years after date to the holder thereof,
redeemable, however, at the pleasure of said president and
directors, or managers, at any time after the expiration of
one year from their respective dates, bearing an interest not
to exceed six per centum per annum, payable semi-annually.

SEC. 2. And be it hereby further enacted, That the president
and directors, or managers, of the said company be, and they
are hereby, authorized and empowered to execute a mortgage
conveying all the road of said company, all its buildings,
rights, franchises and privileges, and its net revenues and
tolls, to three trustees to be named in said mortgage, to secure
the payment of the principal and interest of the bonds pro-
vided for in the preceding section.
SEC. 3. And be it hereby further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 583.
AN ACT to amend and re-enact Section one, Chapter one
hundred and ninety -eight, entitled an "Act for the protec-
tion of and to regulate the time and manner of catching and
taking fish and terrapins in that portion of the Potomac
river, between Maryland Point, in Charles County and
Cheseldine's Island, in St. Mary's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section one of Chapter one hundred and ninety-
eight of the Public Local Laws, Act of eighteen hundred and
seventy-two, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows: That it shall not be lawful for any person or persons,
except bona fide residents of Charles County, to take or catch
