eight, Chapter three hundred and twenty-three, for the sup-
port of sundry schools and charitable institutions in this
State, as the same was in fact passed by the General Assembly,
there was appropriated for the Hospital for the Women of
Maryland for each of the two fiscal years ending on the 3oth
day of September, 1899, and on the 3oth day of September,
1900, respectively, the sum of four thousand dollars, as will
appear by reference to the Senate Journal, page 1606, and
the, Journal of the House of Delegates, pages 1669 and 1670,
and by the engrossed bill as the same was passed; and
WHEREAS, By clerical error in "transcribing said bill for
the Governor the sum appropriated was mistakenly stated
to be three thousand dollars for each of said two years
instead of four thousand, as the said bill so presented to the
Governor should have recited; and
WHEREAS, His Excellency, the Governor, approved the
said bill as presented to him containing said clerical error,
in consequence whereof the Comptroller and Treasurer
declined to pay the said sum of four thousand dollars to the
said Hospital for the Women of Maryland for each of said
years, but paid only the sum of three thousand dollars, and
WHEREAS, It is proper that the said error shall be corrected
and the said Hospital for the Women of Maryland shall re-
ceive the sum actually appropriated for it by said Act of the
General Assembly of eighteen hundred and ninety-eight,
Chapter three hundred and twenty-three, as the same was in
fact passed. Now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of correcting said clerical error the
sum of two thousand dollars be and the same is hereby appro-
priated out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise
appropriated for the Hospital for the Women of Maryland,
and that the Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer for said sum
of two thousand dollars, and that upon the presentation of
such warrant the Treasurer be and he is hereby directed to
pay the same out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise
appropriated.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
