obtain the consent to such crossing, use and. entrance from
the respective County Commissioners of said counties and
from the Mayor and City Council of said Baltimore City.
And should the said railway enter any other incorporated town
or city in either of said counties and occupy any of the streets
thereof it shall first obtain the consent of the proper authori-
ties in said town or city to such entrance and occupancy; and

the motive power used on said railway may be either electricity
in any form or any other improved motive power, and for the
purpose of applying the same the said company shall have the
right to erect and maintain such poles, wires, appurtenances
or other equipment as may be necessary, and to hold, use,
build and maintain the necessary real estate, water power,
power plants and power-houses of every kind and description
which may be necessary and proper for the development of
the power used by it and its transmission and for the building

tion of the said railway. And if said company shall find it
necessary to condemn any rights or property or franchise of
any individual or body corporate for the purpose of its said
railway, it shall have and possess all the rights and powers
for such purposes granted to railroad corporations by the Code
of Public General Laws of this State and any and all amend-
ments thereto, and in addition to the powers given by this
charter the said company shall likewise have all other' powers
conferred by the said Code of Public General Laws upon such
corporations as may be formed thereunder. And this charter
is hereby made subject to the provisions of the Act of eighteen
hundred and ninety-eight, Chapter one hundred and twenty-
three, commonly called the new City Charter of Baltimore
City, and all ordinances passed by the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore and shall be subject to the control in every
respect to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, in so far
as its operations may be carried on in the City of Baltimore,
and nothing herein contained shall be construed to the con-
trary .
