SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 6, 15 and 18 of Chapter four hundred and
ninety-five of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of the Session of eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, entitled
an "Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, the charter
of the Town of Brunswick, in Frederick County, as said
charter was enacted by Chapter five hundred and seventy-
seven of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January Session of eighteen hundred and ninety,
and amended by Chapter five hundred and twenty of the Acts
of the General Assembly of eighteen hundred and ninety-six,"
be and the same are hereby repealed, and said Sections 6, 15
and 18 of said Chapter four hundred and ninety-five of the
said Act of eighteen hundred and ninety-eight are hereby
re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows:

6. The said officer of registration, after inserting an adver-
tisement in some newspaper published at Brunswick, if there
be one so published; if not, in some newspaper published in
Frederick County, and having a large circulation at Bruns-
wick, once a week for two successive weeks prior to the time
fixed for registration, and such other notice as he may deem
necessary of his intention so to do, proceed at some con-
venient place in said town, to be designated in said adver-
tisement at the hour of 8 o'clock A.M. on the third Monday

of July, in the year 1898, and every year thereafter, at the
same time to open said books of registration, and the same
keep open for three successive days — Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday, until the hour of 8 P.M. of said days for the
purpose of correcting, revising and supplementing said regis-
tration-list in the manner above mentioned. And such officer
of registration shall cause a copy of the lists of persons quali-
fied and disqualified in each ward separately, to be published
by hand-bills posted in such public places about the town as
he may elect within three days after the close of said regis-
tration. Any person considering himself aggrieved by the
action of the register in refusing to register his name as a
qualified voter, and any person aggrieved by the action of the
register in striking his name from the list of qualified voters
may appeal to the Mayor, and the Mayor is hereby authorized
to hear such appeal, and to make such correction in the regis-
tration list, by the hand of the clerk, as justice and right in
their judgment shall require. For his services the officer
of registration shall receive such compensation per day as the
Council may from time to time determine. Within three
