WHEREAS, The said Sharptown Marine Railway Company,
of Sharptown, Wicomico County, is the owner of certain prop-
erty on the south side of the Nanticoke River at Sharptown,
in said county, the said property having a front of eight hun-
dred feet, more or less, on said river, which said property is,
in part, improved with wharves and marine railways; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Sharptown Marine Railway Company, of
Sharptown, Wicomico County, Maryland, in addition to the
powers possessed by it under its certificate of incorporation,
and under the General Laws of this State shall have and posr
sess the further powers, rights, privileges and franchises par-
ticularly mentioned in this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
have perpetual succession and all the rights, powers and privi-
leges, set forth in the original certificate of incorporation, are
hereby renewed and continued.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
have the power and authority to engage in the building, com-
pleting, rebuilding and repairing of ships, boats, vessels and
craft of every kind and description, and of completing and
fitting out the same for all purposes, and in the manufacture
of timber, wood, lumber, iron and material generally in con-
nection with said business; and into merchantable and other
useful articles; and to engage in the industrial and mercantile
business generally.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
have the power and authority to maintain, repair and keep up
the wharves and railways already located and used upon the
property aforesaid; and shall have the further power and
authority to erect and maintain and keep up such other
wharves and railways as it may deem necessary in connection
with the business aforesaid, in front of the property above
described; provided that the said railways shall not extend
into the said river further than the railways now there extend,
that is to say, not to extend more than two hundred feet from
the low-water mark; that the capital stock of said corporation
may consist of two hundred and fifty shares of the par value
of one hundred dollars each, being two thousand and five hun-
dred dollars.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
