administer such oath in the same form and manner and in all
respects to the same effect as witnesses are obligated in courts
of law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 424.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 218, 219, 220 and 221, of Article
2, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel
County," sub-title "Stock and Swine," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by. the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 218, 219, 220 and 221, Article 2, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County,"
sub-title "Stock and Swine," be and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows:

Sec. 218. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to
have running at large any horse, mule, cow, calf, horned cattle,
sheep or swine in the third election district of Anne Arundel
County and in the second election district of Anne Arundel
County; or for any person to have running at large swine in
the fifth election district of Anne Arundel County. Any person
who shall violate any provision of this section shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof before any
justice of the peace of said Anne Arundel County, shall be
fined one dollar for each such offense, together with the costs
of prosecution, and on failure to pay said fine and costs shall
be committed to the county jail of said Anne Arundel County
for not more than thirty days; the fine so collected shall be
paid to the Board of County School Commissioners of said
county for the public school fund of said county.

Sec. 219. Any person may impound any horse, mule, cow,
calf, horned cattle, sheep or swine found going at large in the
limits of the third election district and the second election
district of Anne Arundel County, and any swine found going
at large in the limits of the fifth election district of Anne
Arundel County, and the owners of such horse, mule, cow,
