In case of
vacancies, etc
Governor
shall appoint.

294A. In the case of failure to qualify or death of any of the
County Road Commissioners, or resignation or removal out of
the road section of the county for which he was appointed,
or disqualification for any other cause, the Governor
shall have power to appoint a qualified person to fill the
vacancy for the unexpired term. In case of inefficiency,
refusal to act or breach of trust, the Board of County Road Com-
missioners may by a vote of a majority of its members declare

the office of any of its members vacant, and give notice to
the party concerned, an appeal may be taken by the party
affected to the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County, whose decision will be final, but if no appeal be
taken within ten days, the vacancy shall be filled as here-
inbefore provided.

Road districts.

294 B. The Board of County Road Commissioners shall
divide the county into road districts, but no road district shall
be composed of more than one election district, and an election
district may be divided into a number of road districts; each
road district shall be numbered, and the boundaries thereof
shall be recorded in a well-bound book, which shall be kept in
the office of said board. These road districts and boundaries
may be modified from time to time by said board as may be
advisable.

294 C. The Board of County Road Commissioners may
employ a secretary or clerical help in the discharge of its
duties; provided, the same does not exceed two hundred dol-
lars for any one year. It may also pay all expenses necessary
and incident to the discharge of its duties.

Trustees.

294 D. The Board of District Road Trustees shall have
the care of the public roads and bridges within their
respective districts, and all implements, tools, machinery
and material thereto belonging. They shall attend to all
repairs needed upon said roads and bridges, and the same
be done by contract or otherwise, and in connection there-
with make all necessary disbursements by orders on the Board
of County Road Commissioners, and employ all necessary
labor, teams, implements and road machines, which latter
must be worked by skilled men. They shall not exceed the
sum of money appropriated to them by the Board of County
Road Commissioners, and shall keep an accurate record of
their actions, of which a full report shall be made by them to
the Board of County Road Commissioners on or before the
first day of November in each year, supported by an affidavit
to the truth thereof.
