Compensation
|
without regard to expiration of his official term or the exten-
sion of his time. The collector shall receive such compensa-
tion as may be allowed in the charter or ordinances for ser-
vices rendered, and in relation to the collection of taxes,
under the annual levy, he shall receive such compensation as
the Commissioners may appoint by order noted in the minute-
book at or about the time of his appointment.

Shall execute
bond within
certain time.
|
He shall, within twenty days after his appointment, execute
a bond to the Commissioners of Cambridge, in the penalty of
fifteen thousand dollars, or for such greater sum as the Com-
missioners may designate, at or about the time of his appoint-
ment, with securities, approved by the Commissioners, which
approval shall be endorsed on the bond and be signed by three
or more of the Commissioners.

Bond shall be
recorded.
|
This bond shall be recorded among the general records of
the town by the Town Clerk, and also in the office of the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of said county where it shall be
retained. It shall be recorded therein as other official bonds,
and a copy thereof, duly certified by said clerk, shall be
admissable as evidence in any of the courts of this States, as
well as the original; but the failure to record the bond or to
endorse said approval thereon shall not effect its validity or

the liability of those who execute the same. The following
condition shall be in substance set forth therein. Now the con-
dition of this obligation is such that if the above bond (insert
collector's name), who has lately been appointed Town Colt
lector of Cambridge, shall well, truly and faithfully perform
all the duties and functions belonging or appertaining to said
office under the charter and ordinances of said town, and under
the orders of the Commissioners thereof, and if in particular
he shall well, truly and faithfully collect all moneys that it
may be his duty to collect, or that he may be authorized
or directed by said Commissioners to collect, and if he shall
well, truly and faithfully account for and pay over to the said
Commissioners or on their order to the Town Clerk and Treas-
urer of Cambridge all moneys collected by him at such times
as the law may appoint or the said Commissioners may direct,
then and in such case the obligation to be void, but otherwise
to remain in full force and virtue in law.

Compensation
|
The Town Collector shall receive six per cent, on all
moneys collected by him when no fixed compensation is agreed
upon, and entered in the minute book at the time of his
appointment, or at the time he offers his bond for approval.
