raised by said additional assessment to be subject to the same
deductions for expenses of collecting, commissions and insol-
vencies as pther taxes collected by said Mayor and Council-
men of Lonaconing; the itemized statement herein required
not to apply to funds raised by fire company or companies
in any other manner than herein provided.

Sec. 47. And the said Mayor and Councilmen are hereby
authorized and empowered to levy and collect a special tax
on the assessable property of said town of not more than five
cents on each one hundred dollars' worth of assessable prop-
erty within the corporate limits for such purposes, as here-
inbefore provided for; and the said tax so levied shall be a
lien upon property, and shall be collected in the same
manner as are the taxes for the general purposes of said
town.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 295.
AN ACT to amend the Charter of the United Milk Producers'
Association of Baltimore City by granting certain additional
powers and privileges to the United Milk Producers' Asso-
ciation of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Milk Producers' Association of Baltimore City,
a body corporate, incorporated under Article 23 of the Code of
Public General Laws, a certificate of its said charter having
been received for record December 5, 1899, and duly recorded
in Liber R. O., No. 38, folio 276, etc., of the Charter Records
of Baltimore City, in the office of the Clerk of the Superior
Court; and which said original articles of incorporation have
been duly amended in accordance with the provisions of Article
23 of the Code of Public General Laws, as will appear by such
certificate of amendment and certificate providing for the
increase of the capital stock of said company, received for
record the second day of March, 1900, and the same day
recorded in Liber R. O., No. 38, folio, etc., one of the afore-
said Charter Records of Baltimore City, be and the same is

hereby authorized and empowered to provide by its by-laws
what shall be the qualifications of a shareholder in said com-
pany, and to provide that only persons who are interested in
