dog to give such security, then said justice of the peace shall ,
require some one of the constables of the county to proceed
forthwith to kill such dog; and said constable, for such killing,
shall be allowed the sum of one dollar for each dog killed by
him upon such order by the justice of the peace, as aforesaid,
to be taxed against the owner, keeper or harborer of such dog
as a part of the costs in such case; provided, that nothing in
this Article shall be construed to prevent the right of appeal
as in other cases. This and the preceding section not to apply
to Caroline, Howard, Dorchester, Worcester, St. Mary's,
Charles, Montgomery, Somerset and Carroll Counties.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal Section 1786, Article 2, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County," sub-
title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," as enacted by
Chapter four hundred and forty -nine of the Acts of eighteen
hundred and ninety-six, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 178B of Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County," sub-title "Justices
of the Peace and Constables," as enacted by Chapter four
hundred and forty-nine of the Acts of eighteen hundred and
ninety-six, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:

178B. The constables of Anne Arundel County, except in
the sixth district, shall be entitled to the fees prescribed by
the now-existing laws for the particular services rendered,
or except the fees allowed for services of summons for wit-
nesses and return, and for such services they shall be allowed
the sum of twenty-five cents for each of the first three wit-
nesses summoned and returned, and for each additional wit-
ness the sum of five cents, the fees of the constables in the
sixth district shall be the same as herein allowed to constables
in the other districts, but shall be collected, paid to and
accounted for by the justices of the peace, as the preceding
sections prescribe, and no warrant shall be issued by the jus-
