LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Brother Provincial of the Xaverian Brothers in America and
his successors shall always be president and treasurer of this
corporation.

Election of of-
ficers and
terms of office

SEC. 6. And be it enacted. That the Board of trustee shall
elect the vice-president, secretary and other suitable and
necessary officers, at such times, and in such manner, and
on such terms, and for such length of time as the by-laws
may prescribe, and said board of trustees shall control, amend,
enact or annul the rules and by-laws of the said corporation, as
to it may seem proper. The said board of trustees may, at
any time, by a two-thirds vote, expel any member of said
board for good cause. The president shall have the power
of veto over the acts of said board; in the absence or dis-
ability of the president, the vice-president may have such
authority as the president would have were he present.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 37.

AN ACT to repeal Section two hundred and seventeen of
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Mont-
gomery County," sub-title "Sheriff," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section two hundred and seventeen of Article 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Montgomery
County," sub-title "Sheriff," be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Compensation
for boarding
prisoners.

217. He shall be allowed twenty-five cents a day, and no
more, for keeping and boarding each prisoner committed to
the jail of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on the first day of December in the year nineteen hundred
and one .
