SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section three, Chapter two hundred and ninety-
six, of the Acts of Assembly of Maryland eighteen hundred
and ninety-eight, be and the same, is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendment, so as to read as follows:

3. And be it enacted, That the clerks of the several courts
of the State, upon the receipt of the respective volumes herein
provided for, shall send to the State Librarian such corre-
sponding volumes of the old reports as may still be in posses-
sion of their respective courts, to be held by the Librarian
for the future use of the State.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 265.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to the Anne Arundel
County Academy, thereby rendering said Academy more
efficient, and encouraging private individuals to contribute
to its support and endorsement.

WHEREAS, The Anne Arundel County Academy, incor-
porated by the General Assembly of Maryland, by the Act of
eighteen hundred and fifty-six, Chapter two hundred and
thirty-eight, has been regularly maintained as an Academy,
and has prepared many youths of both sexes for college, for
business and professional life; and

Anne Arundel
Co. Academy.

WHEREAS, Said Academy is now the owner of about twelve
acres of land, a school house and boarding hall, situated near
Millersville, in Anne Arundel County, and estimated to be
worth about five thousand dollars, which were donated by
private individuals, present or former citizens of Anne Arun-
del County; and

WHEREAS, Said Academy is now in a position to receive
larger and more generous donations from private and
benevolently disposed citizens, on condition that the State of
Maryland, in addition to the donations heretofore made to
the several colleges and academies of this State and to the
Anne Arundel County Academy, will appropriate to said
Academy the annual sum of twelve hundred dollars.
