SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of five hundred dollars, being at the rate
of forty one dollars and sixty six and two-thirds cents per
month for one year, be and the same is hereby appropriated
out of any money in the State Treasury not otherwise appro-
priated to pay Harry T. Levely for work already done in pre-
paring said index at the rate of said forty one dollars and
sixty six and two thirds cents per month, and to continue the
work until the first day of June A. D. nineteen hundred.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 263
AN ACT to provide a special fund as authorized by Chapter
one hundred and twenty-three Section two of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland, Session eighteen hun-
dred and ninety -eight, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title
"Charter," sub-title "General Powers," sub-title "Police,"
and to care for and regulate the distribution of said fund.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of Bal timore shall,
upon the request of the Board of Police Commissioners of the
City of Baltimore, appropriate annually a sum of money for
the relief of disabled and superannuated members of the Police
force of Baltimore City, and for the relief of Widows and Chil-
dren of Policemen who may be killed in the discharge of duty,
whenever the special fund of said Board of Police Commis-
sioners is not sufficient for the payments authorized by and
under the Acts of the General Assembly heretofore passed.
SEC, 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 264.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments Section
three of Chapter two hundred and ninety-six of the Acts of
Assembly of Maryland eighteen hundred and ninety-eight,
entitled an "Act to provide for a State subscription to Per-
kins' Annotated Maryland Reports."
