LAWS OF MARYLAND.

from the bailiff for the faithful performances of the duties of
his office; the bailiff shall arrest and carry before some justice
of the peace resident in said town to be dealt with as here-
inbefore provided; any person found breaking the peace or
disturbing the quiet and order of said town or violating any
of the ordinances made for securing the safety of the property
or the lives of inhabitants of said town, and he shall have
power to summon any of the inhabitants of said town to assist
him when he deems it necessary.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 147.
AN ACT to repeal Section one hundred and thirty -seven to
one hundred and forty-two, both inclusive, of Article 3 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore
County," sub-title, "Justices of the Peace and Constables,"
and to re-enact said sections with amendments, and to
add new sections to said Article, to be designated as Sec-
tions 142 A, 142 B, 142 C and 142 D, and to repeal Chapter
five hundred and ninety-seven of the Acts of eighteen
hundred and ninety, entitled an "Act to confer additional
jurisdiction upon Justices of the Peace of .Baltimore
County," and to repeal Chapter four hundred and ninety-
six of the Acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-two,
entitled an "Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments
Section three of Chapter five hundred and ninety-seven,
passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and
ninety, entitled an 'Act to confer additional jurisdiction
upon Justices of the Peace of Baltimore County.' "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections one hundred and thirty-seven to one
hundred and forty-two, both inclusive, of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County," sub-title,
"Justices of the Peace and Constables,'' be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, and that additional sections
be added thereto, numbered respectively I42A, I42B, I42C,
and 142D, so that the whole shall read as follows:
