LAWS OF MARYLAND.

sub-division "Procedure-Indictments," to be known as Sec-
tion 291 C, and to read as follows:

Indictment for
violations of
Ordinances.

291 C. In every indictment for the violation of any ordi-
nance of any incorporated city or town of this State, it shall
not be necessary to set forth a copy of the said ordinance, or
any particular section thereof; but every such indictment
shall be sufficient if it recites the number of the ordinance
alleged to have been violated, with the date of its passage, or
if the ordinance has been embraced in a codification, if it
refers to the number of the article and section of such codifi-
cation containing such ordinance, and conforms to the rules
of law governing the framing of indictments for violation .of
Acts of the General Assembly of this State, and concludes
"Against the form of the ordinance in such case made and
provided, and against the peace, government and dignity of
the State."

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 132.
AN ACT authorizing the County Commissioners of Wash-
ington County to contract with the County Commissioners
of Allegany County in regard to a change to be made in the
"Stottlemeyer Road."

Road.

WHEREAS, The maintenance of certain bridges over a
public road in Hancock District of Washington County, con-
necting with a similar road in Allegany County, and com-
monly called the "Stottlemeyer road," is the cause of great
expense to the County Commissioners of Washington County,
by reason of frequent destruction of such bridges by mountain
torrents; and whereas, the County Commissioners of Allegany
County have proposed to change the location of said road
within the limits of Allegany County so as to secure a con-
venient highway to persons using said Stottlemeyer road, and
to render unnecessary the use of said Stottlemeyer road
within the limits of Washington County, and thus relieve the
County Commissioners of Washington County from the ex-
pense of maintaining the bridges upon said road; and
whereas, the County Commissioners of Allegany County have
agreed to make said change of location on condition of the
County Commissioners of Washington County agreeing to
