CHAPTER 741.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County, in their discretion, to levy a sum of money
to pay Artemus Sullivan, one of the deputies of the sheriff
of Montgomery County, for services as peace officer ren-
dered the officers of registration of the Eighth Election
District of said county during their sessions in September,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery County,
in their discretion, are hereby authorized and empowered to
levy upon the assessable basis of said county a sum of money
which, in their discretion, may seem just to pay Artemus
Sullivan, one of the deputies of the sheriff of Montgomery
County, for his services as a peace officer rendered the officers
of registration of the Eighth Election District of Montgomery
County, at their request, during their sessions in September,
A. D. 1896.
SECTION 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 742.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 886 to 899, inclusive, of Article
4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Balti-
more," sub-titles "Miscellaneous Local Laws," "Vagrant
Children," and to enact certain provisions in lieu thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 886 to 899, inclusive, of Article 4 of the

repealed, and the following section to take their place in said
Article enacted in lieu thereof:

886. The Boys' Home, the Dolan Children's Aid Society,
the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, the Home of the Friendless, St.
Vincent's Orphan Asylum and the Henry Watson Children's
Aid Society have the powers and authority conferred by the
General Laws upon juvenile institutions and societies.
