hundred and fifty feet, measured in a northerly direction from
the centre of Fayette street extended, otherwise known as the
Sulphur Spring Hollow Road, and running thence in a west-
erly direction, parallel to and two hundred and fifty feet from
the centre line of said street or road to a point due west two
hundred and fifty feet from the intersection of the centre line
of said street or road, with that of the Old National Pike,
otherwise known as Green street extended, and running
thence in an easterly direction by a line parallel to the centre
line of said Green street extended, or Old National Pike, and
two hundred and fifty feet, measured southerly direction from
the said centre line until it shall intersect with the city limits.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the real and personal
property within said limits as extended by the provisions
of this Act shall be assessed and subject to taxation for
municipal purposes for the June levy for nineteen hundred
and one, of the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland,
Maryland.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That T. Leiper Patterson, Arthur
H. Amick, Hazelhurst Sprigg, Peter Bareis and Franklin B.
Beall be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners, with
power and authority vested in them, or a majority of them,
to re-locate Fayette street, from Brooke avenue, in Reade's
addition to said city, and the extension of Fayette street, com-
monly known as Sulphur Spring Hollow Road, to its intersec-
tion with the Old National Pike, or Green street extended, in
said city; and to grade, pave or macadamize, sewer, and other-
wise improve said street as sought to be re-located, and that
the proceedings of said Commissioners hereunder shall be
commenced within six mouths from the date of the passage of
this Act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Commissioners
shall have all the power and their proceedings shall be con-
ducted in the same manner as if they were appointed by the
Mayor and City Council of Cumberland, Maryland, in accord-
ance with the charter provisions of said city.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said Commissioners
shall receive compensation for the services to be performed by
them at the rate of two dollars per day for each day actually
employed; provided, however, that the total compensation of
each Commissioner so acting shall not exceed the sum of
twenty-five dollars, and said Commissioners shall further
employ a competent surveyor or civil engineer to make the
surveys and estimates of said work and fix his compensation
therefor.
