JOHN WALTER SMITH, ESQ., GOVERNOR.

WHEREAS, Said last-mentioned strip of land was fenced
off, but no deeds of exchange were ever passed between the
Commissioners of Easton and the said Adkins, or those claim-
ing under them; and

WHEREAS, A part of said lot formerly belonging to the
said Adkins has been acquired by John Mason and another
part by the Avon Hotel Company of Talbot County, and it is
uncertain whether the said alley ran through that part of
said lot now belonging to the said John Mason or through the
part now owned by the Avon Hotel Company of Talbot
County; but the Avon Hotel Company of Talbot County,
which has since acquired title to said strip of land agreed to
be conveyed by the said Adkins in exchage, is willing to exe-
cute a deed of said strip to the Commissioners of Easton to
be used as an alley, beginning at Harrison street and connect-
ing with said Turn Again alley, in exchange for a deed or
deeds of release to the Avon Hotel Company of Talbot County
and to John Mason, respectively, from the Commissioners of
Easton, of the strip of land formerly covered by the alley ex-
tending northerly from Dover street as a continuation of Tal-
bot lane; therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of Easton be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to execute a deed or deeds
of release to the Avon Hotel Company of Talbot County and
to John Mason, respectively, of so much of the lots now en-
closed as the property of the said company and the said
Mason, respectively, as was formerly covered by the said
alley running as a continuation of Talbot lane in a northerly
direction from Dover street, in exchange for the strip of land
heretofore fenced off from the northernmost side of the lot
now owned by said company and the lot leased by said com-
pany to S. Harry Patchett, adjoining the lot of Mrs. Maria E.
Pascault; said strip to be held by the Commissioners of
Easton as an alley extending Turn Again alley to Harrison
street.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
