1900.] OF THE SENATE 987 TUESDAY, March 27th, 1900. The Senate met at 11.30 A. M. Prayer by Rev. Mr. Winstead. Present at roll call the following Senators: Messrs. President, Applegarth, Baker, Beasman, Betts, Bouic, Brewington, Bryan, Crothers, Dennis, Dick, Dod- son, Gray, Kirwan, Marsh, Messick, Moore, Moses, Peter, Putzel, Ravenscroft, Rohrback, Wilkinson, Williams, of Harford; Williams of Anne Arundel—25. The Journal of Monday was read and approved. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES. Mr. Orothers, from Committee on Finance, reported favorably, Senate bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 192 of Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Revenue and Taxes,' so far as the said section relates to the city of Baltimore, and to re-enact the same with amendments as sections 164 A and 164 B of Article 4, Public Local Laws." Which was read the second time and ordered to be en- grossed for a third reading. Also, favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to incorporate the Mary- land State Horticultural Society and to appropriate a sum of money therefor." Which was read the second time. Also, favorably, Senate bill No. 275, entitled "An Act to authorize the Governor of Maryland to appoint L. Allison Wilmer, late Adjutant-General of Maryland, or some other person to be selected by the Governor, the agent of the State of Maryland, to collect and recover, in the name of the Gov- ernor of Maryland, the balance due, or so much thereof as is collectible, of the claim of the State against the |
