credit of said town for the purpose of contracting for
purchasing and operating waterworks in or near said
town and to issue bonds for the payment of the cost of
the same, and to levy a tax on the assessable property of
said town, and to redeem said bonds and to pay the in-
terest thereon."

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Washington. county to re-
fund to Lucy M. Howard a sum of money erroneously
paid as taxes."

Also, favorably,
House bill entitled "An Act to authorize and empower
the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to establish a
system for the collection of garbage in Hagerstown,
Maryland."
Which was read the second time.
Also, favorably,
House bill entitled "An Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 21, of the Code of Public Local Laws of
the State of Maryland, entitled ‘Talbot County,' sub-title
‘Easton,' to be inserted after section 53 A, of said Article,
and to be designated section 53 B, authorizing the Com-
missioners of Easton to require culverts to be constructed
in any open drain or ditch running through private prop-
erty in said town."

Mr. Brewington, from Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,
House bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments paragraph 3, of section 61, of chapter 136,
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed
at the session of 1896, entitled an Act to repeal from
section 60 to section 77, both inclusive, of Article 23, of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,' title ‘Wi-
eomieo County,' snb-title ‘Liquors and Intoxicating
Drinks,' and to repeal sections 61, 69 and 74 of said Art-
