Too much cannot be said concerning the management of this hospital by the Sisters of Mercy, who devote their lives to the care of sick, in their charge, and also their efficient management of the hospital; and also the abilities of the physicians. And we take great pleasure in commending this institution, and ask for the desired appropriation, $5,000. Maryland General Hospital. The committee find this to be one of the finest institu- tions of its kind in the State. Notwithstanding they have only one free bed for each county and Legislative district, and we cheerfully recommend the appropriation which is asked for its maintenance be allowed.
