1900.] OF THE SENATE. 717 tutional Amendments, reported favorably, with prof osed amendments, Senate bill No. 180, entitled "An Act to amend section 3, Article 1, of the Constitution of this State, and to pro- vide for the submission of said amendment to the quali- fied voters of this State for adoption or rejecticn." AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. In line 17 of the engrossed bill after the word "give," insert the words "such bribe present or reward or such' promise or security and time person receiving the same.' At the end of section 1 of line 22 of engrossed bill, add the words "provided that any person receiving any such bribe, present or reward or such promise or se- curity compelled to testify in any for any of time acts referred to in this section shall be exempted from trial and punishment for any such acts, including time disquali- fication hereinbefore mentioned." In section 2 of engrossed bill, line 3, after the word "election," insert the words "for members of the General Assembly." Which proposed amendments were severally adopted, and The bill was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES. Mr. Brewington, from Select Committee, rcported fav- orably, Senate bill entitled "An Act to encourage the estab- lishment and development of manufacturers' and manu- facturing industries in Wicomico county." Which was read the second time and ordered to be en- grossed for a third reading. Mr. Peter, from Select Committees reported favorably, Senate bill entitled "An Act to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of Prince George county to con- struct a public county road upon and along Washington turnpike road between Laurel and line of District of Columbia, to borrow money on the credit of said county for the construction of said road and issue coupon bonds therefor; and to levy and collect on and from the assess- |
