Which was read, ordered spread upon the Journal and referred td the Committee on Rules. ORDERS. On motion of Mr. Williams, of, Harford, it was Ordered, That the following be added to Rule XVI, of the. Rules of the Senate, that is to say: On each of said committees the majority and minority of the Senate shall be entitled to representation propor- tionate to their respective membership. Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Rules. On motion of Mr. Crothers, it was Ordered, That the President of the Senate be and he is hereby authorized to appoint a clerk to the Committee on Finance; also, such other officers in and about the Senate as may be needed, not to exceed five in number. On motion of Mr. Beasman, it was Ordered, That Senators Brewington, Ravenscroft and Gray be excused from to-day's session on account of im- portant business. |
