week for four successive weeks in two newpapers published
in Chestertown, for bids for the construction of said school
house, and they shall award the contract to the low-
est responsible bidder who will enter into contract and
execute a sufficient bond with approved security for
the completion and erection of said school house. Time
said commission, however, to have full power in their
discretion to reject any and all bids, and advertise for
others."
Amend section 6 by striking out in line 1, after "said,"
the words "board of county commissioners," and insert-
ing in lieu thereof the words "commission hereinafter
named."
Amend section 7 by striking out all after the figure 7,
and inserting therefor the following:
"And be it enacted that Wilbur Eliason, John K. Al-
dridge, James W. Lambert, William B. Usilton and W.
A. Toulson be and are hereby created a commission for
the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions of this
Act, relating to the selection of a site and to the building
and equipping of said school house, with all the power
and discretion hereinbefore mentioned."
Amend section 8 by striking out all after the figure "8”
and inserting the following:
And be it enacted, That said commission before pur-
chasing the site and contracting for the building of said
school house, may sit aside and reserve out of said $20,000
whatever sum they may deem necessary for the equip-
ment of said school house, including the cost of heating
and lighting the same.
Amend by adding sections 9 and 10 as follows:
Sec. 9. And be it enacted that the Acts of 1896, chapter
193, be and the same is hereby repealed.
"Section 10. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage."
