1900.] OF THE SENATE. 607 land, who shall have charge of all public roads and bridges of said county, to provide for the maintenance of same, and to repeal sections 278, 278 A, to 290, both in- clusive, title ‘Roads,' of Article 17, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title ‘Prince George's County,' sections 1. 2, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24, of Article 25, of the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘County Commissioners,' and all other laws so far as the said sections and laws may be inconsistent with the provisions of this Act." AMENDMLNT PROPOSED. The County Commissioners shall appoint until the next general election when they shall be elected by the people. Which proposed amendment was adopted, and The bill was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Beasman, from Select Committee, reported favor- ably, with proposed amendment, House bill entitled "An Act to repeal chapter 42, of the Acts passed at the January session of the General Assembly of 1894 entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments, section 142, of Article 7, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title ‘Carroll County,' sub-title ‘State's Attorney." AMENDMENTS PRoPosED. 1st. In section 1 strike out all after the word "county," on line 20, to the word "but," in line 25, and insert in lieu thereof the following: "The aforementioned fees shall be the only compensation to be paid by the said county commissioners to the said State's attorney and in lieu of the fee and compensation provided in section 21 of Art- icle 10, of the Code of Public General Laws. 2d. In section 1 insert the word "commissioners” after the word "county," in line 27. 3d. In section 1 after the word "county," insert the words "commissioners."
