Which was read the second time. Also, favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the People's Bank of Baltimore city, a body corporate, as contained in the Act of 1884, chapter 342, by repeal- ing and re-enacting with amendments, section 3 of said Act." Which was read the second time. Also, favorably, Senate bill No. 172, entitled "An Act to repeal and re- enact with amendments section 24, of the charter of the Baltimore and Southern Railroad Company, as the same was enacted by the Act of 1896, chapter 271, so as to extend the time for the completion of said railroad." Which was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Also, favorably, with proposed amendment, House bill entitled "An Act to amend sections 1 and 2, of chapter 344, of the Acts of 1896, entitled an Act to in- corporate the Fraternal Trust and Banking Company, so that the corporate title of said corporation shall here- after be the ‘City Trust and Banking Company,' and further amending said Act so as to authorize the election of twenty-five directors or less." AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Insert after the word "twenty-five” at the end of sec- tion 2, the following: "Provided, that said corporation shall be subject at all times to the provisions of the Acts of 1892, chapter 109 and 179, or amendments or supple ments thereto." Which proposed amendment was adopted, and The bill was read the second time. Also, favorably, Senate bill No, 159, entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the Cumberland Savings Bank, so as to author- ize said bank to engage in and conduct a general banking business." |
