0, as enacted by the Act of 1894, chapter 516, and to be
‘Section 87 H of said Article 75.'"
Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Crothers, from Committee on Finance, reported
favorably, with proposed amendments,
House bill entitled "An Act to regulate the mode of
payment of all appropriations made by the State to any
association or incorporated institution maintained for
industrial, educational. medicinal, humane or charitable
purpose."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In line 11, of section 1, of engrossed bill, strike out the
words "to be sworn” after the word "account."
Also,
In line 7, of section 2, of engrossed bill, strike out the
words "the second” and insert in lieu thereof, the word
"any."
Also,
At the end of section 2, of the engrossed bill, add the
words "provided, the said institution shall have received
an appropriation prior to the passage of this Act.
And the Comptroller is hereby authorized in his dis-
cretion, for the purpose of informing himself of the ex-
penditures of said institution, to cause an examination of
their financial affairs and management to be made."

Mr. Moore, from Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably,
House bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of
the Firemen's Insurance Company of Baltimore, a body
corporate, existing by virtue of the Act of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1825, chapter 55, and the Acts
supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof, by pro-
viding for the reduction in the number of directors of
said company fixed by the Act of 1892, chapter 143, sec-
tion 5, sub-section 13; and also to ratify and approve the
