Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee on Finance, hereafter to be appointed. By Mr. Bouic, A bill entitled an Act to add additional sections to Article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Montgomery County," sub-title "Justices of the Peace," to be designated as "Sections 127 A, 127 B, 127 C, 127 D, 127 E, 127 F, 127 G, 127 H, 127 I, etc." Which was read the first time, and referred to aSpecial Committee composed of Messrs. Bouic, Williams, of Anne Arundel, and Crothers. The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and de- livered the following message: By THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, • January 11th, 1900. Gentlemen of the Senate: We have received your message proposing that when the General Assembly adjourns to-day, it stands ad- journed until 8 P. M. Monday, the 15th inst., and we concur therein. By order, B. L. SMITH, Chief Clerk. Which was read. ELECTION OF TREASURER. The hour of 12 M., having arrived the Senate pro- ceeded to the election of Treasurer for the State of Maryland. The Senators proceeded to deposit their ballots in the ballot box which was delivered to Messrs. Applegarth and Wilkinson, who conjointly with the Committee of the House of Delegates, retired from the Senate Cham- ber to count the ballots. |
