The President appointed Messrs. Applegarth and Wilk-
inson, as tellers on the part of the Senate.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared, and
delivered the following message:
BY THE HousE OF DELEGATES.
January 11, 1900.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body to proceed to the election of a Treasurer of the
State, today (Thursday Jan. 11, 1900,) at 12 o'clock noon.
We have nominated on the part of the House, Hon.
Murray Vandiver, of Harford Co., and General Thos. J.
Shryock, of Baltimore city, and have appointed as tellers
Messrs. Mitchell and Biggs, who are to receive the vote
of the House, and in connection with the tellers to be
appointed by your Honorable Body to count the same.

Mr. Crothers submitted the following message:

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We have received your message proposing to pro-
ceed with the election of a State Treasurer to-
day, January 11th, 1900, at 12 o'clock, M., and respect-
fully concur therein.
We have nominated, on the part of the Senate, Gen.
Thomas J. Shryock and Murray Vandiver, and have ap-
pointed as tellers Senators Applegarth and Wilkinson,
who are to receive the vote of the Senate, and in con-
junction with the tellers appointed by your Honorable
Body, to count the same.
