428 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 27 Also, A bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 13, of chapter 425, of the Acts of 1892, amendatory of the Acts of 1890, chapter 132, entitled ‘An Act to incorporate the town of Lonaconing, in Allegany county,' and re-enacting the same with amendments, as follows." Which was read the first time and referred to Senators Dick, Ravenscroft and Betts. By Mr. Kirwan, (by request), A bill entitled "An Act for the relief of the surety upon the official bonds of William J. Blunt, late collec- tor of State taxes for the fifth election district of Queen Anne's county, for the years 1886 and 1887." Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Finance. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES Mr. Bouic, from Committee on Judicial Proceedings, reported favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 1, of Article 17, of the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Clerks of Courts,' and to re- enact the same with amendments, so far as the same ap- plies to Talbot county.'" Which was read the second time. On motion of Mr. Bouic, Said bill was recommitted to the Coiiiiiiiitee on Judi- cial Proceedings. Also, favorably, with proposed amendments, House bill entitled "An Act to add a new section to Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title Allegany County,' sub-title ‘City of Cumberland,' under the new sub-title ‘Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes,' to be numbered ‘Section 96 A,' and to follow section 96, Article 1." AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Amend section 1 by adding at the end of line 2, after the word "Laws” and before the words "sub-title," the words title Allegany County.'" |
