A bill entitled "An Act to permit the United Railway
and Electric Company of Baltimore, to increase its Board
of Directors from the present number, to wit: ‘nine' unto
‘eleven,' and to provide that of such number, two may be
citizens and residents of States other than the State of
Maryland."
Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Corporations.


REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Bouic, from Committee on Judicial Proceedings
reported unfavorably,
Senate bill No. 131, entitled "An Act to add a new sec-
tion to the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
Article 27, entitled ‘Crimes and Punishments,' sub-title
‘Cruelty to Animals,' providing for the destruction of
abandoned animals."
Which report was adopted.
Also, unfavorably,
Senate bill No. 118, entitled "An Act to repeal chapter
285, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed January Sessian 1884, entitled an Act to repeal
section 21, of Article 10, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title ‘Attorneys- at-Law and Attorneys-in-Fact,'
sub-title ‘State's Attorney,' so far as the same applies to
Anne Arundel county, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, providing for the compensation of the
State's Attorney for Anne Arundel county."
Which report was adopted.
Also, favorably,
Senate bill entitled "An Act to declare the sanction and
consent of the General Assembly of Maryland, to the
several deeds made by Samuel Appold and wife, Gabriel
D. Clark and wife, and William Kammerer, to the trus-
tees of St. Mark's English Evangelical Lutheran Church
of Baltimore, a corporation duly incorporated under the
laws of the State of Maryland, and also to the acquisition
hereafter by the said grantee of the fee-simple title to
any lot of ground mentioned in said deeds in which it
