1900.] OF THE SENATE. 335 this Act to serve until the next general election, and providing for the termination of the terms of the County Commissioners elected at the general election of 1897, and the County Commissioners elected at the general election of 1899. AMENDMENT PROPOSED. In title of bill strike out all after the word "seven” in fourth line of title and insert after the word "seven” the following words "and to regulate the salary of said County Commissioners” and strike out all after the word "from” in section 112, and insert "the qualification of the commissioners, whose election is hereinafter provided for at the general election of November, 1901, and there- after there shall he seven County Commissioners for Anne Arundel county;" and strike out section 112 A and and 112 B, and insert a new section 112 A. to reed as follows; "112 A, at the general election for county officers in Anne Arundel county, to be held on the first Tuesday after Monday, in November 1903, shall be elected five Coanty Commissioners for Anne Arundel county, two tc serve for a term of two years end three to serve for a term of four years and until the qualification, and election of their successors who, with the two County Cmmissioners who held over after the said general election of 1901, shall constitute the Board of County Commissioners for Anne Arundel county, and at the general election of 1903, and thereafter County Commis- sioners shall be elected to serve for a term of four years as the respective terms of any of the said seven County Commissioners terms expire, and any person to be eligi- ble for election as County Commissioner of Anne Arundel county, must have been a duly registered voter of said county for a period of at least five years, and a tax payer upon assessed property in Anne Arundel county of not less than one thousand dollars in value, And make section 113 read as follows: "113. Nothing in this Act shall apply to the County Commissioner elected at the general election of 1897, and the County Commissioner elected at the general election of 1899, and they shall serve for the terms for which they were elected, and receive the same pay for the balance of their respective terms as they received before the passage of this Act. |
