The Journal of Monday was read and approved.
PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
The Pr?sident presented a petition from Rev. S. R.
Wheeler, and 118 others, for the enactment of a general
• local option law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
Also,
A protest from S. E. Norris, and 86 others, against any
change in the present Sunday law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings.
ORDERS.
On motion of Mr. Brewington, it was
Ordered, Thst as the "machinery” of the different
chairs at the Senatorial desks are not running smoothly,
that the janitor be authorized to "grease” the machinery.
Which was adopted.
