Mr. Moore, from Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably,
Senate bill No. 98, entitled "An Act to extend the privi-
leges, enlarge the powers and amend the charter of the
Land and Loan Association of Ellicott City and Howard
county, so as to enable it to loan money on or purchase
promissory and negotiable notes, bills obligatory or other
evidences of debt."
Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Bouic, from Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably,
Senate bill No. 102, entitled "An Act to add an additional
section to Article 90, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title 'Sureties,' sub-title ‘Counter Security,' to follow sec-
tion 5, and to he designated as ‘Section 5 A' empowering a
fiduciary to include the cost of his bond as a part of the
lawful expense of executing his trust."
Which was read the second time.
Pending further consideration of which
On motion of Mr. Bouic,
Said bill was made the Special Order of the Day for
Thursday, February 15th, at 1 P. M.
The Secretary of State appeared with a message from
the Executive.

ORDER OF THE DAY.
The hour of 12.30 P. M. having arrived,
The Senate considered the Order of the Day, being
Senate bill No. 30, entitled "An Act to add an addi-
tional section to Article 66, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, entitled ‘Mortgages,' to be known as ‘Section
23.'"
With proposed amendments.
FURTHER AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

By Mr. Applegarth,
At the end of section 1, add:
"Provided that the county of Dorchester be exempted
from the application of the provisions of this Act."
Which proposed amendment was withdrawn.
