1900.] OF THE SENATE. 249 INTRODUCTION OF BILLS. By Mr. Crothers, A bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the Rising Sun, Northeast and Elk River Electric Railway and Power Company, as incorporated by the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, January session of 1898, chapter 284." Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee on Corporations. By Mr. Moses, A bill entitled "An Act to add four additional sections to Article 4, of the Public Local Laws, entitled ‘ City of Baltimore,' sub-title ‘Miscellaneous Laws,' as the same was enacted by chapter 123, of the Acts of 1898, to fol- low section 604, and be designated as ‘Sections 604 A, 604 B, 604 C and 604 D, respectively, providing for a clerk to the grand juries of said city, defining his duties and imposing a penalty for the violation thereof.' Which was read the first time, and referred to Sena- tors Bryan, Moses and Putzel. By Mr. Ravenscroft, A bill entitled "An Act to add certain sections to chapter 25, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January Session, 1898, known as the ‘Amended Charter to the town of Oakland,' granting to the Mayor and Town Council of Oakland, additional powers to operate an electric light plant or to contract for the operation of the same, and to grant franchises to corporations or individuals within the corporate limits of the town of Oakland, and to be known as ‘Sections 196 A, 196 B, 196 C." Which was read the first time and referred to Senators Ravenscroft, Dick and Betts. By Mr. Moore, A bill entitled "An Act to adjust and settle finally by an agreement all pending controversy between the Bal- more Chesapeake and Atlantic Railway Company, the State of Maryland, the City of Baltimore and the certain counties of said State." Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee on Corporations. |
