Mr. Peter offered the foflowing
Ordered by the Senate, That a committee of three be
appointed by the Chair to distribute to the various com-
mittees, when appointed, the recommendations made by
his Excellency, the Governor, inhis message.
Which was adopted.
The Chair appointed Messrs. Peter, Bryan and Dick as
the Select Committee.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
delivered the following message:
By THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.

January 3, 1900.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We respectfully propose with the poncurrence of your
Honorable Body that the Senate and Honse of Delegates
meet in the hall of the House of Delegates at 2.30 o'clock
P. M., January 3rd, 1900, when the Speaker shall preside,
and in the presence of both houses open the returns of
Election for Governor of the State in conformity with
the requirements of Article 2, section 3, Constitution of
Maryland.
We have appointed five members as a committee to es-
cort your Honorable Body to the Hall of the House of
Delegates for the purpose aforesaid.
We have appointed Messrs. Lehmayer, Stewart, Laken,
Kimball and Krems.

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.
Mr. Peter submitted the following message:

Jannary 3rd, 1900.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates.
