On motion of Mr. Dennis, it was Ordered, That Senators Dodson, Wilkinson, Betts and Baker be excused from attendance at this session on ac- count of important business. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS. By Mr. Bryan, A bill entitled "An Act to enable the legal voters of any county, election district of a county, city, ward of a city, or any incorporated town, where liquors are sold by law, to determine by election whether or not fermen- ted, spirituous or intoxicating liquors shall be sold in such county, election district of a county, city, ward of a city, or incorporated town of this State." Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee on Temperance. By Mr. Bouic, A bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 217, of Article 16, of the Code of Public Laws, title ‘Montgomery County,' sub-title ‘Sheriff,' and to re-enact the same with amendments." Which was read the first time, and referred to Sena- tors Bouic, Williams, of Anne Arundel and Crothers. By Mr. Bryan. A bill entitled "An Act to appropriate certain sums of money to the support of sundry schools and charitable institutions in the State of Maryland, for each of the two fiscal years ending on the 30th day of September, 1901, and on the 30th day of September, 1902, respec- tively." Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee on Finance. |
