cent; and in the month of August. the treasurer-
shall sit for two days at the principal town in each elec-
tion district; and in the months of September and Octo-
ber one day for the purpose of receiving taxes; due
notice of which sitting shall be given by him, and he
shall report to the County Commissioners at their regu-
lar meeting, on the second Tuesday in each month, the
amount of taxes of all kinds received by him up to that date,
the amount of disbursments made and the balance re-
maining in his hand; and he shall deposit at the close of
each week, in banks designated by the County Commis-
sioners, all moneys that may have come into his hands
during said week; the portion belonging to the State
to the credit of the Comptroller of the State Treasury,
and that belonging to the county to the credit of Cecil
county, and shall receive therefor from the said banks
two certificates of deposits; and he shall immediately
forward to the comptroller the certificate showing the
amount placed to his credit, and shall exhibit to the
county commissioners the one showing the amount placed
to the credit of Cecil county, and file the same in their
office, and the money thus deposited to the credit of
Cecil county shall be drawn out only upon a check signed
by the Treasurer, and approvedl by the President of the
Board of County Commissioners."

At the end of line 20, of section 119, add the follow-
ing:
"Provided, however, that at the general election to be
held in Cecil county, in the year 1901, and biennially
thereafter, that the said assistant treasurer shall be elec-
ted by the votes of the legally qualified voters of said
county, whose term of office shall begin at the same time-
as that of the treasurer to be elected at the said election,
and whose duties, powers, privileges and pay shall be
the same as prescribed by this section for the assistant
treasurer of Cecil county."
