ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate took a recess until 8 P. M.

NIGHT SESSION.

THURSDAY, Jan. 25th, 1900.
The Senate resumed session at 8 P. M.
Present at roll call the following Senators:
Messrs. President, Applegarth, Betts, Bouic. Brew-
ington, Bryan, Crothers, Dennis, Dodson, Gray, Kirwan,
Marsh, Messick, Moses, Peter, Rohrback, Wilkinson,
Williams, of Harford, Williams, of Anne Arundel—19.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
The Senate considered, unfinished business, being
Senate bill No. 9, entitled "An Act to repeal chapter
407, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1898, entitled an Act to add an additional section to
Article 38, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
‘Fines and Forfeitures,' to follow section 3, to be known
as ‘Section 4,' "with proposed amendments.
Pending consideration of which,

On motion of Mr. Crothers,
Said bill was made the special Order of the Day, for
Tuesday, January 30th, at 1 P. M.


The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and re-
turned the following:
Joint Resolution and Memorial of the General Assem
