in provided to be named, are hereby authorized imme-
diately upon notice of their selection to make such ex-
aminations of the hooks, papers and acconnts of said
company as shall be necessary, and also to summon be-
f6re them and examine under oath to be administered by
them to nil officers and agents of said company, and such
other persons as they may deem necessary to examine,
and also hear such other persons as may volunteer to
come before them for the purpose above named, which
said summons shall be served by the sheriff of Baltimore
city, and which he is hereby directed to do.
Said commissioners may employ such assistance as
they may require in the discharge of their duties.
All salaries and expenses incident to the said commis-
sion shall be paid by the Consolidated Gas Company, of
Baltimore city.
Be it further resolved, That said commission shall, on
or before the 20th day of February, 1900, present to the
Senate and House respectively, a report with any recom-
mendations they have to make; and
Be it further resolved, That the committees respec-
tively of the Senate and of the House, to which said bills
have been referred, be and they hereby are requested to
report their action upon said hills to their respective
bodies, not later than February 23rd, 1900.

tion 83 of said Article, to be designated ‘Section 83 A.'"
