Also, favorably, with proposed amendments,
Senate bill entitled "An Act to add a new section to
Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
Revenue and Taxes,' to follow section 201, as enacted by
chapter 143 of the Acts of 1896, to be designated ‘Section
201 A."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out all from the beginning of line 23, down to
and inclusive of the word "estate” in line 35 and insert
as follows: "Pass an order directing the administrator
or executor to pay the same out of the first money com-
ing into his hands, as a preferred claim, just as though
said taxes had been levied, assessed and due and in arrear
at the time of the decendent's death, and the said court
shall not permit the said estate to be closed until the
said taxes and penalties are paid."
Strike out "section 2."
Which proposed amendments were severally adopted,
and
The bill was read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third read.
Also, favorably, the following orders:

Ordered, That Mrs. Margaret W. Dexter be paid the
sum of twenty-five dollars for services rendered the
Senate as per bill rendered, the same having been ap-
proved by the Superintendent of Public Buildings.
Ordered, That Miss Juliet M. Dexter he paid the sum
of ten dollars for services rendered the Senate as will
appear by bill rendered and approved by the Superin-
tendent of Public Buildings.
Which were severally adopted.


ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Williams, of Anne Arundel, it was

Ordered, That Thomas McNier be paid the sum of five
dollars per day, for fifteen days, for services in raising
the flag over the State House.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.
