On motion of Mr. Stewart,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to appropriate
the sum of $21, 440. 50, and to refund the same to the ap-
propriation for the contingent and necessary expenses of
the Adjutant-General's office and for the maintenance,
equipment and discipline of the land forces of the militia
for the fiscal year ending September 30th. "
On motion of Mr. Linthicum (by request),
Leave was granted to the Dorchester county delegation
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to add a sub-section
to be designated 'Sub-section 203 A, ' to section 203 of
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title 'Dor-
chester County, ' sub-title 'Justices of the Peace. "
On motion of Mr. Duncan,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to provide for the ex-
tension of gas mains in the York Turnpike road from the
present terminus of said mains to the present city limits. "
The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message:

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We respectfully request the return to the Senate by
your Honorable Body of bill No. 77, printed file of the
House, of Delegates, entitled "An Act to repeal section
40, of Article 17, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title 'Clerks of Courts, ' sub-title 'Clerk of the Court of
Appeals. ' as repealed and re-enacted by the Acts of 1894,
chapter 298, and re-enact the same with amendments,
said bill having been unfavorably reported by the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings of the Senate, and re-
turned to the House of Delegates on the date of March
9th, 1900. "
