and consent of the General Assembly to certain deeds
made by various persons in the State of Maryland to the
convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the
Diocese of Maryland. "
On motion of Mr. Simmons,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to in-
troduce a bill entitled ''An Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay William H. Dowell, late collector of State
taxes for Calvert county, the amount overpaid by him
into the Treasury. "
On motion of Mr. Wilson,
Leave was granted to the Garrett county delega-
tion and Mr. Wolfe, to introduce a bill entitled "An Act
to repeal and re-enact with amendments chapter 285 of
the Acts of 1890, authorizing the Sheriff of Garrett
county to employ a warden for the county jail. "
On motion of Mr. Johnson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to compensate
Sarah Wise, of Baltimore city, for damages to certain
property belonging to the said Sarah Wise, arising from
a defective drain owned and operated by the State of
Maryland. "
On motion of Mr. Truitt,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to prohibit the license
for sale of spirituous or fermented liquor or lager beer in
the village of New Market, Maryland. "
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to amend the Code
of Public Local Laws, Article 3, title 'Baltimore County, '
sub-title 'Primary Elections, ' as amended by chapter 261
of the Acts of 1892, by adding a new section thereto, to
follow after section 9, and to be designated 'Section 9 A. ' "
