Whereupon,

The Speaker declared the Hon. Murray Vandiver, hav-
ing received a majority of all the votes cast by both
branches of the General Assembly, was duly elected State
Treasurer for the term of two years.

Mr. Wolfe submitted the following message:
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 11, 1900.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body, the appointment of a committee of five, two on the
part of the Senate, and three on the part of the House of
Delegates, to wait upon the Honorable Murray Vandiver,
the Treasurer-elect, and inform him of his election.

We have appointed oh the part of the House Messrs.
Mitchell, Wolfe and Biggs.
