The memorial of the committee of Israel Baptist Church,
against any modification of Sunday laws.

All of which were severally read, and referred to the
Committee on Judiciary.

ORDERS.

Mr. Knott submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the printer be instructed to print house
bill No. 257 entitled "An Act to provide for the creation
of a franchise commission for Baltimore city, and to print
200 copies thereof. "

Which was referred to the Committee on printing with
instructions to report as to cost.

On motion of Mr. Lancaster, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Contee be excused from to-day's
session on account of important business.

Mr. Feldmeyer submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Messrs. Jones and Franklin be paid the
sum of $118. 06 for sundries furnished the House of
Delegates, as per his bill herewith exhibited and approv-
ed by the Superintendent of Public Buildings.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Claims.

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Scrimger,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore city delegation to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to give to the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore full power over the laying
of all conduits for telephone, telegraph wires or cables
in the streets, lanes and alleys of said city. "

Also,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore city delegation to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to make a uniform tax
rate for the City of Baltimore. "

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to incorporate the In-
dustrial Bank of Baltimore. "
